Restoration of the former San Paolino Convent, Florence (Italy)

The former convent attached to San Paolino Church, presumably founded in the 11th century, is located in the historic center of Florence just a short walk from Santa Maria Novella and Ponte Vecchio. The structure has evolved into its present form following numerous works: it was rebuilt in the 18th century, remodeled in 800 and expanded in the 1950s.

Until 2007, it was the headquarters of the Loans Company of Florence Savings Bank, better known as Monte di Pietà, which had offices, depositories, safes and storage.
The property is divided into 3 structures with an overall surface area of about 11,500 square meters. The restoration project comprises the construction of a hotel with 173 rooms, a restaurant, a bar, a lobby, a meeting room and an underground car park.
