Bulgari Store Facade, Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia)
Dutch architects MVRDV have renovated the facade of the Bulgari store in Kuala Lumpur. While its innovative design is result of collaborative research work between the Technical University of Delft and Tensoforma, this facade was realized thanks to the consultancy by Milan Ingegneria and received the South Asia special award for exterior design in the “Pacific Shop” Category.
Inspired by the historic gray-green veined marble frames typical of the via Condotti Bulgari store in Rome, the new facade combines concrete, resin and brass. The concrete, cut following a sophisticated design, is filled with resin, then illuminated by LED lights. The precise composition of the components renders the entire wall monolithic.
Designed by the architect Winy Maas, the Kuala Lumpur model is the restyling plan prototype of the Bulgari World image. An approach with an infinite combination of shapes, lights and colors that will give Bulgari Stores an immediate, unmistakable identity.
