Port control tower, Genoa (Italy)

Renzo Piano has donated the project for a new control tower to the Port of Genoa. The tower, that will replace the one destroyed in the 2013 incident, will become a new point of reference for the city and a place to remember the victims of the incident. It will be located at the edge of Genoa Trade Fair district dockyard.
The steel and glass control room, at a height of 60 meters, will be supported by two columns made of stainless steel, concrete and steel, where staircases and lifts will be placed.
