A new district in Gibraltar

An urban regeneration project in Gibraltar, an 80,000-square-meter area where a new mixed-use district will be created, strategically located close to the marina. Surrounding a new public plaza, a combination of residential units, offices and commercial spaces will be distributed among six buildings that share a homogeneous, Mediterranean-inspired formal language.

A square as a meeting place

The intervention, which is located in an area strategically positioned between the airport and the marina, involves the complete redevelopment of the site and the consequent creation of a new mixed-use district. The protagonists of the project, developed by CZA - Cino Zucchi Architetti, are six new buildings intended to house approximately 275 residential units, commercial spaces, offices and services such as a gym, spa and lounge areas overlooking a public square

The six buildings, characterized by different geometries, volumes and heights, will be united by a visual uniformity made possible by the consistent design of the facades, developed by BUROMILAN FACADE. The result will be a balanced urban environment, inspired by the Mediterranean city. The plaza at the center of the project aims to create a new collective public space, around which the community development of the neighborhood and the entire city can gravitate.

"A benchmark for the Gibraltar of the future."
Peter Bagnoli, Senior Associate CZA
