Designed by arch. Giuliana Salmaso for Diasen, the installation "ANESIS, Nature, Wellbeing, CorkPhilia" consists of a monolithic structure characterized by spiral progression, which invites the visitor to walk toward the circular-shaped vaulted room illuminated by natural light from a central oculus. The load-bearing structure, made of wood, is covered with a special biomalta developed by Diasen, made from cork, lime and pumice stone. The end result consists of a soft-looking material, which combined with the warm tones and sinuous shapes of the installation is intended to create an overall harmonious effect, designed to reduce stress and restore the visitor's well-being.
The project is based on the scientific principles of biophilic design, according to which the presence of natural elements (plants, proportions, materials or light sources) within the architectural space can promote the psychophysical regeneration of people, stimulating positive emotions and accompanying a process of relaxation. The entire installation, which is distinguished by the materiality of the cork left exposed, can be interpreted as an immersive multi-sensory experience, an experiential journey from chaos to calm, as well as a reminder of the Paleolithic initiatory caves in which the symbolic journey of rebirth of ancient humans culminated.
