The Venetian hotel of the Belle Epoque

Hotel Excelsior was built in 1908 to a design by Giovanni Sardi and has hosted the Venice Film Festival since 1932, welcoming world-famous personalities among its guests.
The appearance of the hotel marries Venetian taste with that typical of eclecticism, which drew on construction elements proper to distant eras, but also exotic formal aspects, albeit realized with modern techniques. The restoration work was carried out respecting the original features of the building.

The Venetian hotel of the Belle Epoque

The Excelsior Hotel stands on the dunes of the Venice Lido beach and is a masterpiece of early 20th-century Venetian art. In 2010 it was declared a Building of Cultural Interest by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities.
In 2017, the campaign of works aimed at the restoration of the Hotel began. Activities focused mainly on the consolidation of structures through localized interventions, with adaptation to seismic standards. Reinforced structural plasters reinforced with carbon, basalt and glass fibers were applied. It followed the restoration of masonry surfaces and valuable decorative apparatus, the upgrading of the plant equipment and the adaptation of the rooms to current sanitary regulations.
