La Villa du jardin suspendu is presented as a travertine structure that rises from the ground, maintaining a strong contact with the soil and the surrounding nature. Harking back to the atmosphere of typical Moroccan buildings, the massive marble walls create the feeling of a refuge, characterized by dim light. At the top of the structure, there is space for the master bedroom, surrounded by a roof garden that overlooks the three different landscapes in which the villa is set: the nearby olive grove, the desert, and the Atlas Mountains in the distance.
In the Villa du jardin suspendu, to dominate is typical ochre color of terra pisé, a construction technique used since ancient times in many parts of Africa and consists of building walls with compacted earth in formworks, which is excellent for the dry climate of Morocco. All the vertical structures of the villa were built with this technique, while the rest of the structure, which covers a total area of 1176 square meters, is made of exposed reinforced concrete, colored with pigments to simulate the coloring of the local clay.
