Inspired by the French-Venezuelan artist Carlos Cruz-Diez, in whose works color is an autonomous reality in constant change, the façade of Prada's Flagship Store is a kinetic work of art composed of imposing backlit gold and silver metal blades.
Prada opens its new Flagship Store in Dubai at the Dubai Mall's Fashion Avenue, an area dedicated to the most prestigious luxury brands, and which features a unique visual identity.
Each brand has chosen its own iconic and representative language for its facade.
The modules installed on Prada's facade, produce a change in the color spectrum depending on the intensity of light and the movement of observers.
The opaque portion of the facade consists of framed panels, attached to vertical mullions, which can be divided into two distinct types, differing in the distance between the mullions; in one case the maximum distance is 1.30 m, while in the other it is 1.05 m.
Horizontal bracing was added to the façade structure to counteract the transverse action of the wind.
The glazed portion consists of curved glass panes attached to vertical posts, 2.45 m apart.
