Boston Consulting Group's new Milan office is located in an important building overlooking Piazza Duomo, part of the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II monumental complex. The building, which had already undergone previous renovations, has undergone a new restyling that has made it possible to change its internal functionality, creating a flexible space that, in addition to offering a wide variety of working environments, lends itself to different possible configurations. Curated by AMA - Albera Monti Architetti, the project aimed to create a space that would promote the well-being of workers, enriched by the presence of Italian-style garden terraces.
The composition of the intervention involved a systematic set of works, respecting the typological, formal and structural elements of the building organism, which, in some cases, also affected the existing structures. Before the executive phase was started, investigations were carried out on the structural elements in order to identify their main morphological and constructive characteristics and to verify their state of preservation. From the results of the investigations, it was then decided to initiate local repair and intervention works, which affected limited portions of the building.
