A facade as bright as a diamond

Among the stores in the Dubai Mall, Tiffany & Co.'s Flaghsip Store makes itself instantly recognizable by the light reflected from the countless crystals that make up its facade.
The design represents the brand's identity, recalling its history, during which, since 1837, luxury jewelry and accessories have been designed through the processing of the world's finest diamonds.

A facade as bright as a diamond

The renovated façade of the Tiffany & Co. store in the Dubai Mall, designed by SANAA Studio, features glass blocks welded directly onto panels of
support. The mounting system provided for the facade was purpose-built and includes mirrored support panels on which the blocks are housed, rotated to reflect light and the surrounding environment.

Façade engineering

The engineering of the facade involves a reflective aluminum substructure to which 15,000 cubes of pure crystal were glued. The arrangement of the crystals is only seemingly random; in fact it is carefully designed to reflect light dynamically so as to capture the visitor's attention.
The cubes are backlit with a light of the color Tiffany Blue.
